We specialize in the following professional services:
Florida Statutes Chapter 481 Section 303 defines the scope of our practice, which includes, but is not limited to: consultation, investigation, research, planning, design, preparation of drawings, specifications, contract documents and reports, responsible construction supervision, or landscape management in connection with the planning and development of land and incidental water areas, the use of Florida-friendly landscaping, the siting of buildings and structures, the setting of grades and contouring of land and water forms, the determination of drainage, and the design of steps and ramps, fountains and pools, fences, screens, dividers and walls, overhead structures, decks, retaining walls, play equipment, benches and planters, drainage structures, lighting, pavement, curbs, and site furnishings.
Our staff includes a Florida licensed Landscape Architect.
Additionally, we support the Florida-Friendly Landscaping certification process by identifying “right plant, right place.
We provide the following services related to trees and land development:
These services are specifically tailored to meet municipal submittal requirements, such as Pasco County LDC Sec. 802.3.B.1.b, City of Tampa LDC Sec. 27-284, and Hillsborough County DRPM Sec. 4.1.6.1.1.D.1.
Our staff includes an ISA Board Certified Master Arborist and an ASCA Registered Consulting Arborist.
To expedite Tampa projects, we have a City of Tampa Self-Certifying Private Arborist (SCPA) on staff.
This service is primarily provided for permitting and construction-related projects or assignments that involve variances, special uses, or rezonings.
On this calendar, you can schedule an appointment for an initial meeting to understand the scope of the project or assignment.
An assessment fee of $215 is due at the time of scheduling. This fee covers the meeting only and does not include an arborist report or inventory.
Sometimes this assessment is enough to move forward or make a decision. However, if an arborist report or tree inventory is needed, then additional effort and fees are required. Report costs vary by complexity, but they start at $795. Appointments are for Hillsborough County only. Please contact us directly to schedule an assessment in another jurisdiction.
We can recommend tree care providers if you only need pruning, fertilization, pest management, planting, removal, or other similar services – Dark Moss only consults and does not provide these tree care services.
We can navigate complex zoning, planning, and permitting applications, including:
We can also provide a suite of environmental permitting services such as: wetland delineation and permitting, Gopher Tortoise surveys, Environmental Resource Permit (ERP) applications, and Florida Uniform Mitigation Assessment Method (UMAM) analysis.
Our staff includes an APA Certified Planner (AICP).
