Our team brings a practical mindset to every project, balancing performance, durability, and beauty.

We're growing, and we're looking for driven professionals who are eager to take responsibility, lead meaningful work, and contribute to a collaborative, high-performing studio environment.

Current Opportunities

Senior Landscape Architect

We’re seeking a licensed landscape architect with at least 5 years of experience leading projects, coordinating teams, and producing high-quality design and technical documentation. This person will work across multiple sectors and be expected to manage both client relationships and internal teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage landscape architecture projects from concept through construction
  • Prepare construction drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
  • Oversee project budgets and fee management using Unanet AE
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff and interns
  • Coordinate with clients, consultants, and contractors
  • Conduct site visits and manage construction administration
  • Develop project goals, work plans, and team organization in Airtable and Asana
  • Participate in client meetings, presentations, and design reviews
  • Prepare and review consultant agreements and project correspondence
  • Develop planting plans, hardscape details, material selections, and other related design solutions
  • Guide visual design and produce illustrative graphics using AutoCAD, LandFX, and Adobe InDesign
  • Maintain project quality control and compliance with standards
  • Produce cost estimates and review contractor submittals
  • Monitor budget updates and report to firm leadership
  • Maintain licensure and pursue continuing education

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture or Architecture from an accredited program
  • Florida Licensed Landscape Architect
  • 5+ years of professional experience, including project leadership
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, LandFX, Sketchup, Adobe InDesign, and ERP Platforms (Dark Moss uses Unanet AE)
  • Strong knowledge of plant materials, construction methods, and site detailing
  • Ability to manage multiple projects efficiently and communicate effectively with team members and clients
  • Experience with streetscapes, transportation corridors, or infrastructure projects is a plus

Hot Takes

This is a rewarding job, but it’s not always glamorous. You’ll work on a wide range of project types, including background infrastructure projects and everyday civic spaces that don't always make headlines. You will juggling multiple deliverables, sweating the details in the field, and collaborating on shared deadlines that aren't always in our control. That means being accountable to your teammates as much as your clients. We work hard, and sometimes the work is fast-paced or messy—but it's always meaningful. If you value craft, utility, and impact more than the spotlight, you’ll fit right in. (There is the occasional spotlight too)

What You Can Expect

We offer a competitive compensation and benefits package that supports your well-being, professional growth, and work/life balance:

  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Simple IRA with company match
  • Paid time off and paid holidays
  • Reimbursement for licensure and CEUs
  • Flexible or hybrid scheduling (depending on role)
  • A collaborative, responsive work environment
  • Competitive salary and annual performance reviews
